Welcome to Knaakit, a product of Meritlife Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("Knaakit", "we", "our", or "us"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect your information when you use the Knaakit mobile application and related services.

By accessing or using Knaakit, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

A. Information You Provide

When creating or using your Knaakit account, we may collect:

• Full Name

• Email Address

• Phone Number

• Profile Photo (optional)

• Preferred UPI Application

Providing a profile photo is optional and is entirely at your discretion.

B. Transaction Information

To enable rewards, loyalty benefits, and payment verification, we collect transaction-related information including:

• Merchant Name

• Merchant ID

• Merchant UPI ID

• Bill Amount

• Coins Earned

• Coins Redeemed

• Transaction Date and Time

• Transaction Status

• Reward History

• Coin Balance

• Coin Transaction History

Knaakit does not collect or store your bank account details, debit card information, credit card information, UPI PIN, or any payment credentials.

Payments are completed securely within your chosen UPI application (such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, or any compatible UPI app).

C. Location Information

With your permission, Knaakit collects your device location solely for:

• Discovering nearby participating merchants

• Improving nearby merchant recommendations

We do not collect background location.

D. Device Permissions

Depending on the features you use, Knaakit may request access to:

Camera

Used for scanning merchant QR codes.

Storage / Photos

Used only for saving QR codes or related images generated within the application.

Notifications

Used to deliver important service-related notifications and, in the future, loyalty updates and reward information.

Open Other Apps

Used solely to launch your preferred UPI application to complete payment transactions.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account

• Authenticate users securely

• Process and verify purchases

• Award and redeem loyalty coins

• Generate payment QR codes

• Launch your preferred UPI application

• Display nearby merchants

• Prevent fraud and misuse

• Detect duplicate or suspicious transactions

• Resolve customer support requests

• Improve our products and services

• Analyze application usage and performance

3. Merchant Visibility

To confirm purchases and loyalty transactions, participating merchants may view limited information including:

• Your Name

• Your Profile Photo (if provided)

• Bill Amount

• Coins Used

• Purchase Time

Merchants cannot access your:

• Phone Number

• Email Address

• Location History

• Complete Transaction History across other merchants

• Bank Details

• Payment Credentials

Each merchant can only view information related to purchases made at their own business.

4. Payment Information

Knaakit acts as a loyalty and payment facilitation platform.

Payments are completed through third-party UPI applications selected by you.

Knaakit does not process, receive, or store:

• Bank Account Numbers

• Debit Card Information

• Credit Card Information

• UPI PIN

• Internet Banking Credentials

• Payment Passwords

5. Authentication

User authentication is securely managed using Firebase Authentication.

Access to user information is restricted to authorized personnel who require such access for operational purposes.

6. Third-Party Services

To provide our services, Knaakit uses trusted third-party providers, including:

• Firebase Authentication

• Firebase Backend Services

• Supabase (Data Storage)

• Google Maps

These providers process information only as necessary to perform their services and are subject to their own privacy and security practices.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

• Secure encrypted communication (HTTPS/TLS)

• Secure authentication

• Role-based access controls

• Restricted employee access

• Secure cloud infrastructure

While we strive to protect your information, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide our services.

If you choose to delete your Knaakit account:

• Your account is deleted immediately.

• Your personal information is permanently removed from our systems.

• No personal data is retained after account deletion, except where required by applicable law.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your information

• Update your profile information

• Delete your account directly within the application

• Request assistance regarding your personal information by contacting us

10. Children's Privacy

Knaakit is not specifically directed toward children.

The application is intended for users who are legally able to operate a UPI-enabled payment account or otherwise use the services in accordance with applicable laws.

If we become aware that personal information has been collected in violation of applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to remove such information.

11. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may disclose limited information only:

• To participating merchants for purchase confirmation

• When required by law or legal process

• To protect the rights, safety, or security of Knaakit, our users, or others

12. International Processing

Your information is primarily stored using cloud infrastructure located in India where applicable. Some service providers may process data in accordance with their global infrastructure while maintaining appropriate security safeguards.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any changes will be posted within the application and on our website with a revised Effective Date.

Continued use of Knaakit after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
